Sample Language for Your Will

By including a gift in your will or living trust—commonly referred to as a bequest—you can ensure that your legacy continues to make an impact. Your gift can be designated as a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remaining balance after all other commitments have been honored.

Below you will find suggested language to use when drafting your bequest.

 

Sample Language

To make an unrestricted gift that allows Autism Life and Living to address its most pressing needs, you may use the following suggested language in your will or trust:

“I give to Autism Life and Living (ALL), a nonprofit organization based in Arizona, and  currently located at [address], or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”

To designate your provision for a particular purpose:

“I give to Autism Life and Living (ALL), a nonprofit organization based in Arizona, and  currently located at [address], or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for (state purpose) if and so long as Autism Life and Living (ALL), a nonprofit organization based in  Arizona determines that the need exists. If Autism Life and Living (ALL), a nonprofit organization based in Arizona shall determine at the outset or at a later time that the need does not exist, or no longer exists or for some reason it is not possible (or prudent) to administer my gift as originally intended, then Autism Life and Living (ALL), a nonprofit organization based in Arizona may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above.”
