About Us

Helping Young Adults with Autism Thrive

Founded by a passionate mom, ALL is a beacon of hope for young adults with autism and other intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD). They understand the challenges faced by this group as they become adults.

ALL offers a variety of programs to help young adults become more independent, develop social skills, and feel good about themselves. They teach life skills like budgeting and cooking, along with social skills for making friends and building relationships. ALL also works to make sure these young adults feel included in the community by hosting social events.

Financial limitations shouldn’t hold anyone back. ALL has creative fundraising and a dedicated board to ensure everyone can participate in their programs. Their goal is to empower young adults with autism to have a brighter future, filled with independence and purpose.

Learn more and get involved! ALL has a passionate team working to achieve their mission. Visit their website to see the programs offered for young adults ages 13 and over.

How It Started

The Concept

One of the most compelling and foundational stories we share about Autism Life and Living (ALL) is the story of our inception. ALL was founded by a determined single mother of two young men with autism. Her journey of navigating the challenges and triumphs of raising her sons highlighted a significant support service and housing gap for young adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD). This gap left many families struggling to find suitable and supportive environments where their children could thrive independently. Her experience and vision led to the creation of ALL, driven by the belief that these vulnerable individuals are not only capable of learning and achieving independence but also of becoming self-determined, productive members of society. This story is a testament to the power of a mother’s love and advocacy, demonstrating how personal struggles can inspire significant community change and support. Though the concept began for young adults with autism, in honor of her boys, it includes young adults with autism and other I/DD.

Why We Do What We Do

Data Matters

Independent Living Community Starting Point

Adults with autism and other intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) face a critical shortage of housing options and access to supports they need to thrive. To drive future planning, funding and significant advancements in public policy a comprehensive market analysis of the needs and preferences of individuals with autism and/or IDD is critical. Autism Life and Living is proud to have been part of the Market Advisory Council for the Greater Phoenix Housing Market Analysis.

Trisector Advisory Council

The analysis involved collecting data, identifying barriers to meeting housing demand and developing ways the public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors can work together to prevent the displacement or homelessness of this vulnerable population.  This groundbreaking analysis has the potential to positively and permanently impact public policy and funding streams.
